The Major League Soccer season is here and there is a lot to look forward to from the reworked Real Salt Lake roster. Along with the new look, there are plenty of expectations.
Jason Davis of ESPN FC released his preseason Power Rankings where he had RSL ranked at No. 12, saying, “RSL said goodbye to a legendary No. 10 with midfielder Javier Morales’ departure. Albert Rusnak will be the man who will try to fill those extremely large shoes.”
Matt Pence of the Four Four Two had the Claret and Cobalt as one of five sleeper teams that could shock the MLS. He had RSL listed first among his sleepers, saying, “A trusted veteran core mixes with a next generation of potential Salt Lake standouts from an academy long lauded as among the best in MLS. Fourth-year coach Jeff Cassar has had some growing pains, but both he and his charges say he’s begun to put his personal stamp on the team.”
