Cold-shooting Stars fall 91-80 in home opener to Northern Arizona

TAYLORSVILLE — The home opener for the Salt Lake City Stars ended on a sour note as they fell to the Northern Arizona Suns 91-80 on Friday night at Salt Lake Community College.

Askia Booker and Johnny O’Bryant led the way for Northern Arizona in the win. Booker finished with 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the floor, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc while O’Bryant added 20 points and seven rebounds.

 The Suns also had a solid outing from former Jazzman Elijah Millsap, who registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to go along with three assists in 43:06.

Jermaine Taylor was the most impressive Star on the night, coming away with 20 points on 9-for-13 shooting and three rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench.

It was a big step forward for Taylor who struggled with his shot in the first two games of the season making just 36.4 percent of his 22 attempts after not playing in 2015-16.
