After a long break, many former Cougars playing basketball around the world were in action over the weekend with varying results.
Kyle Collinsworth saw significant time on Sunday night in a 126-109 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, and produced one of his best games of the season since joining the Mavericks.
The former BYU standout totaled five points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent from the foul line. He added four rebounds, two assists and a steal in 16:57 of work. He was especially impressive when he was on the block as he finished at the rim on two occasions while drawing the foul.

Mavs.com writer Bobby Karalla noted how well Collinsworth did while in the post.
In 18 games, he is averaging 2.7 points on 48.8 percent shooting with 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 12.2 minutes.
Mika has best game of the season
Eric Mika also made a big impact on Sunday as VL Pesaro dropped a 92-79 decision to Vanoli Cremona. He tied his career-high with 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the floor and 5-for-7 from the foul line. He added a team-best nine rebounds, two blocks and two assists, and was a +11 in 32 minutes on the floor.
Through 20 games, Mika is averaging 14.3 points on 52.9 percent shooting from inside the arc to go along with 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 assists in 28.8 minutes.
Tavernari goes off from deep
Jonathan Tavernari had another impressive showing on Sunday as Dinamo Sassari fell to EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, 116-93. The sharpshooter finished with 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc in just 16 minutes.
It was Tavernari’s third double figure scoring game in his last five contests.
On the season, he is averaging 6.6 points on 64.7 percent shooting from the floor, including a blistering 60 percent from 3-point land. He also chips in with 1.5 rebounds in 10.4 minutes a night.
Davies reaches double figures in win
Brandon Davies had a good outing on Sunday as well as Zalgiris Kaunas knocked off Dzukija, 72-63. In the nine-point win, he finished second on the team with 12 points on the 6-for-11 shooting from the field. He added five rebounds and a steal in 16:46 on the floor.
In 23 LKL games, Davies is averaging 8.0 points on 54.4 percent shooting with 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 15:37 a night.
Abouo leads the way in win over Nancy
Charles Abouo continued his fine play in his return to France as FOS Provence outlasted SLUC Nancy 66-63 on Friday. He paced his team in the win with 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting from 3-point land. He added three rebounds and a steal in 30 minutes on the floor.
The win propelled FOS Provence to a 15-5 record and third place in the Pro B standings just one game behind the leaders.
In 20 games, Abouo is averaging 13.3 points on 46.2 percent shooting with 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.9 steals in 28.1 minutes.
