Morning links: Motekiai Langi garners national attention; Kaufusi impresses with work ethic

The BYU Cougars got plenty of attention for signing Motekiai Langi a couple of years back. Now it’s Langi who is getting the attention for his play on the practice field. Just in the last two days, he has been featured in stories by NFL.com, Yahoo Sports and Athlon Sports.

While some of that attention comes from his size, he’s 6-foot-7 and 400 pounds after all, some is also coming from his play on the practice field.

One play in practice in particular stood out as Langi dispatched a running back with a one-armed tackle.

Speaking of the play, Athlon Sports’ Jasmine Watkins wrote, “During a recent practice at BYU’s training camp, Langi showed off his strength with an arm tackle you won’t soon get out of your mind.”

He isn’t the only defensive lineman with Cougar ties garnering headlines.

Former Cougar defensive end Bronson Kaufusi was featured in a story on ESPN by Jamison Hensley as he tries to make his way back on the field after missing out on his rookie season with an injury.
