Jimmer Fredette tracker, CBA game 26: Fredette has big game in Sharks’ win

Jimmer Fredette and the Shanghai Sharks bounced back from their two-game losing streak in a big way as they revenged one of their four losses on the season with an emphatic 115-84 win over Jilin on Wednesday.

The Sharks got things going early as they took an 11-point lead after the first quarter. After pushing the lead to 19 at the half, Shanghai blew the game open in the third as they outscored the Northeast Tigers by 11 to push the lead to 30.

Fredette led the way for the Sharks with a game-high 37 points on 13 for 28 shooting from the floor, including 6 for 13 from beyond the arc and 5 for 5 from the foul line. He added a game-best six assists and five rebounds in 34:48.

Lu Wei also had a big night with 21 points on the strength of a 5 for 10 shooting performance from 3-point land while Guerschon Yabusele added 19 points, on 8 for 13 shooting from the field with 17 rebounds and five assists.

Jabari Brown led the way for the Northeast Tigers with 36 points on 12 for 27 shooting from the floor to go along with seven rebounds while Liu Tianyi chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds.

Malcolm Thomas had a rough night on the offensive end as he finished with just four points on 2 for 8 shooting, including 0-3 from distance, but did manage 12 rebounds and three assists.

On the season, Fredette is averaging 38.4 points on 49.3 percent shooting from the field, including 41.2 percent from 3-point range and a blistering 92.9 percent from the free-throw line. He also chips in with 8.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.8 steals for the 22-4 Sharks.

Up next for Fredette and Shanghai is a match-up on Friday with Liaoning Flying Leopards. The Flying Leopards are just two games behind the Sharks in the CBA standings with a 20-6 record after a 108-95 win over Shanxi.

The Flying Leopards are led by Lester Hudson who is averaging 33.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Another familiar face in former NBA big man, Shavlik Randolph who is averaging 20.2 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

It will be the second meeting of the two teams on the season. The Sharks came away with a 117-105 win in the first match-up thanks to a monster night from Fredette who finished with 47 points on 17 for 31 shooting, including 8 for 17 from distance.
