Jimmer Fredette tracker, CBA game 21: Fredette has big scoring night in win

Jimmer Fredette had one of his best scoring nights on the season as the Shanghai Sharks knocked of the Jiangsu Tongxi Monkey Kings 117-108 on Sunday.

Fredette was the leading scorer for the Sharks for the 20th time in 21 games finishing with 43 points on 16 for 28 shooting from the floor, including 6 for 13 from beyond the arc and 5 for 7 from the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds and four assists in 43:49 of action.

Guerschon Yabusele put up another nice performance as well with 23 points on 10 for 13 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists and two steals while Liu XiaoYu added 23 points of his own on 7 for 10 shooting from the floor and 7 for 8 from the foul line.

Jared Cunningham led the way for the Monkey Kings with 38 points on the strength of a 21 for 21 shooting night from the free-throw line. Ike Diogu chipped in with 21 points and eight rebounds.

With the win, Shanghai improved to a league-best 19-2 on the season and surpassed last year’s win total with 17 games remaining.

On the season, Fredette is averaging 39.1 points on 50.2 percent shooting from the floor, including 41.3 percent from 3-point range and 91.9 percent from the free-throw line. He also chips in 9.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.0 steals.

Up next for Fredette and the Sharks is a matchup with the Jiangsu Dragons on Wednesday night. The Dragons are 11-10 after a 112-97 setback to Liaoning.

The Dragons are led by former NBA first round pick MarShon Brooks who is one of the top scorers in China. He is averaging 35.3 points to go along with 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists.

Another familiar face for the Dragons is big man Samardo Samuels who played 109 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers over a three-year span. He is averaging 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds.
