Jimmer Fredette had another big performance even though he sat the entire first quarter as the Shanghai Sharks improved to 13-1 on the season with a 93-77 win over the Bayi Rockets on Sunday.

Fredette led four Sharks in double figures finishing with a game-high 36 points on 13 for 26 shooting from the floor and 7 for 8 from the free-throw line. He added 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals in 34:47 of action.

He got plenty of help from Zhang ZhaoXu and Liu XiaoYu in the win. ZhaoXu finished with 18 points on 6 for 9 shooting from the field and 6 for 7 from the foul line to go along with 13 rebounds while XiaoYu added 15 points and three boards.

Han Shuo carried the scoring load for the Rockets with 23 points on 7 for 16 shooting from the field with six rebounds.

The Sharks got off to a slow start against one of the bottom teams in the league as they got outscored 23-19 in the first quarter.

They bounced back in the second quarter thanks to some stingy defense as they held the Rockets to just 14 points on their way to a six-point halftime lead.

Shanghai continued one of its best defensive performances of the season, holding Bayi to just 40 second half points on the way to the 16-point win.

On the season, Fredette is averaging 38.6 points on 51.1 percent shooting from the floor, including 42.7 percent from beyond the arc and 91.4 percent from the free-throw line. He also contributes 8.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.4 steals.

Up next for Fredette and the Sharks is a matchup with the Shandong Golden Stars on Friday night. The Golden Stars are 8-6 on the season after a hard-fought 95-93 win over Liaoning on Sunday.

They are led by former Sacramento Kings’ teammate Jason Thompson who is averaging 23.6 points and 14.2 rebounds. He is helped by Ding Yanyuhang who is averaging 22.3 points and 5.8 boards.
