Kansas City Chiefs Andy Reid’s support of Former Utah quarterback Alex Smith was the focus of a story from ESPN’s Adam Teicher.
After talking about Smith’s struggles early in the 30-27 overtime win over the Denver Broncos Sunday night, Teicher writes, “The final quarter and a half, including a full overtime period, showed why the Chiefs stick with Smith. He shook off the pressure from the Denver defense and the physical hammering he was taking to finish 12-of-19 for 120 yards with a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final quarter and a half.”
Teicher continues, “The Chiefs faced three do-or-die drives and got the job done each time.”
He then quoted Reid about Smith, “I have all the respect in the world for the guy. The way he handles himself is just top of the line. We’re so lucky to have him. He’s very underappreciated, I think, outside of our walls.”
