Jimmer Fredette and the Shanghai Sharks bounced back from their first loss of the season with a huge 117-105 win over the Liaoning Leopards on Friday night.
Fredette had one of his best offensive performances of the season in the win with 47 points on 17 for 31 shooting from the floor, including 8 for 17 from beyond the arc and 5 for 5 from the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds, six steals and three assists in 42:02 of action.
He had plenty of help as three other Sharks scored in double figures, including Liu XiaoYu who managed 22 points on 9 for 16 shooting from the field to go along with four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Cai Liang added 21 points on 10 for 14 shooting while Guerschon Yabusele chipped in with 15 points on 50 percent shooting to go along with eight rebounds and three assists.
Lester Hudson led the way for the Leopards who lost for just the second time on the season. He totaled 32 points on 7 for 15 shooting from 3-point range while adding seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Shavlik Randolph also had a nice outing with 23 points and 12 rebounds while Han Dejun registered 18 points and 11 rebounds.
On the season, Fredette is averaging 40.5 points on 51.1 percent shooting from the floor, including 45.5 percent from distance to go along with 7.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.5 steals for the 7-1 Sharks.
Up next for Fredette and Shanghai is a matchup with the Shanxi Brave Dragons. The Dragons are led by Jamaal Franklin who is averaging 40.5 points, 11 rebounds and 9.6 assists after a game on Wednesday night that saw him total 60 points, 21 assists and 13 rebounds in a 157-152 loss.
Another key player for the Dragons is Samuel Dalembert who is averaging 13.8 points and 12.1 rebounds.
