Matt Carlino tracker: Game 11

The Marquette Golden Eagles improved to 7-4 on the season with a 67-54 win over North Dakota on Monday night.

JaJuan Johnson and Derrick Wilson led the way for the Golden Eagles as they used a strong second half to secure the victory. Johnson finished with 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals while Wilson added 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the field to go along with nine rebounds and six assists. Juan Anderson also had a solid day with eight points, 13 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and a pair of steals.

Estan Tyler led the way for North Dakota with 18 points on the strength of a 6 of 9 shooting performance from beyond the arc. Quinton Hooker added 12 points on 6 of 8 shooting to go along with seven boards and three assists while Jaron Nash chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Matt Carlino had a solid second half showing after struggling in the first. He went scoreless in the opening period and didn’t even attempt a shot, but committed three turnovers as the Golden Eagles found themselves in a five-point hole at the break.

The second half was a different story as Carlino knocked down 3 of 4 shots from the floor, including his only 3-point attempt and 2 of 3 free-throws. He finished with nine points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 33 minutes.

Up next for Carlino and the Golden Eagles is a Sunday visit from Morgan State.
