Jimmer Fredette continued his hot shooting over the last few days as Panathinaikos came away with wins in both Greek League and EuroLeague play.
He started things off with a fantastic first-half performance on Thursday as Panathinaikos evened its EuroLeague record at 3-3 with an 86-70 win over Anadolu Efes. In the win, Fredette recorded 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting from the field including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. He added four assists and a rebound while playing 17:22.
Fredette did all of his scoring in the first half during two key stretches as the Greens made runs. His first basket of the night came in the first quarter when he drilled a stepback three. After firing a pass to Ben Bentil for a huge jam on the next possession, Fredette knocked down another 3-pointer, this time on a pass from Nick Calathes in transition to push the lead to eight.
Jimmer went back to work in the second quarter when he showed off his moves off the dribble before converting on a tough back shot. He then hit his third triple of the night thanks to a perfectly timed bounce pass from Calathes that left Fredette all the time in the world to set his feet and convert from the right corner.
The Jimmer Watch YouTube Channel shared a highlight video of Fredette’s performance.
Through six EuroLeague games, Fredette is 11th in scoring, averaging 14.5 points on 50.9 percent shooting from the field, 40.6 percent from beyond the arc and 94.7 percent at the foul line. He also chips in with 2.7 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 22:21 a game.
Fredette also showed out in Greek League play, in limited minutes, as the Panathinaikos absolutely crushed Larissa, 110-68. In the one-sided win, he finished with 12 points on 80 percent shooting from the field, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range while converting on his only free throw. He added four assists in 18:42 on the floor.
Fredette got the offense going early in the contest when he curled off a double screen before calmly knocking down a three. His next basket came on another step back to freeze the defender before connecting on another triple.
Jimmer hit his third three on the night later on in the second quarter and drawing contact for the 4-point play. His last basket of the night came on an alley-oop pass from Calathes that Jimmer finished with a reverse layup.
