Brandon Davies has been playing extremely well to start out the year, and Friday was no different as he made huge contributions for Barcelona who came home with a 74-64 win over Anadolu Efes Istanbul.

In the double-digit victory, the former BYU inside force finished with 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field. He added five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal in 23:43.

Davies was also recognized for his outstanding play in the ACB (Spain’s top league), taking home the Interperformances Player of the Week after putting up 24 points and collecting 11 rebounds in a 95-87 overtime win over Baskonia.

Through two games in Spain, Davies is in the top 10 in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.5 points (10th) and 10 rebounds (third) in 25 minutes.

Elijah Bryant also saw action in EuroLeague and made a solid impression before fouling out as Maccabi Tel Aviv dropped an 89-83 decision to Khimki Moscow Region on Thursday.

In the setback, Bryant registered 10 points on 3-for-6 shooting from the field (1-for-2 shooting from beyond the arc), and 3-for-4 from the foul line while adding a rebound and an assist in 16:58.

Bryant and his Tel Aviv teammates start Winner League play on Sunday with a matchup against Maccabi Rishon.

Charles Abouo had a terrific game on Friday as his Fos Provence Byers lost a tough one to the Antibes Sharks, 74-71 in Leaders Cup action.

In the loss, Abouo recorded a team-best 21 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field (1-for-2 from 3-point land) and 4-for-5 from the foul line. He also chipped in with six rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 32 minutes.

Through three games in Leaders Cup, Abouo is putting up 14 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 25.7 minutes.

Abouo and Fos-sur-Mer will be back on the floor on Monday for another round of Leaders Cup.

Frank Bartley IV is off to a fast start during his second season as a pro, showing off his ability as a scorer for a very formidable team in Spain’s LEB Gold League.

He had another strong performance on Friday as Carramimbre CBC Valladolid came away with a 93 to 81 win over ZTE Real Canoe. In the victory, Bartley totaled 20 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor while connecting on his only free throw. He added three assists and two rebounds in a game-high 32 minutes.

Through a pair of games, Bartley is averaging 17.5 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in 26:43.

Jordan Chatman saw action on Saturday as his BC CSU Sibiu squad fell to reigning Romanian Champion CSM CSU Oradea 68-64 in a hard-fought battle in the Super Cup of Romania.

Chatman had a solid showing in the loss, finishing with six points on 2-for-2 shooting from 3-point range while chipping in with six rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 19:13 on the floor.
