Another big performance from Brandon Davies wasn’t enough as Zalgiris Kaunas dropped an 82-73 decision to Lietuvos Rytas in game 2 of the LKL championship series.
Davies led the way for Zalgiris on the offensive end with 17 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the floor, including a handful of big dunks, and 3-for-4 from the foul line. He added five rebounds, a block and an assist in 24:19 of work.
The LKL TV YouTube channel shared highlights of the hard-fought game which included an incredible chase down block by Davies in the early minutes of the contest.
Through two games of the Lithuanian League Finals, Davies is averaging 19 points on 68.1 percent shooting from the floor with 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 23 minutes.
Game 3 of the best-of-seven series will be back in Kaunas on Thursday.
Charles Abouo also saw championship round action on Monday as his FOS-Provence squad came away with a 72-68 win over Roanne in the first game of the French Pro B Finals.
The former BYU swingman had a solid all-around effort in the four-point win, finishing with four points, six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in 22 minutes on the floor.
Abouo has been instrumental in the run to the finals for FOS-Provence, averaging 13.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 steals in an impressive regular season.
While his minutes and touches have dropped in the playoffs, Abouo is shooting a better percentage from the floor, 45.8 percent – 45.7 percent, while averaging 6.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 21 minutes.
The second game of the championship round takes place on Thursday.
Abouo took to Twitter before the start of the championship series where he shared a photo of himself playing some defense in the semifinals.

Raul Delgado was also in action over the last few days as part of Mexican League regular season play as his Obregon team split a pair of games with Mazatlan. His best showing of the two contests came in a 98-92 loss when he totaled five points on 2-for-5 shooting from the field while handing out an assist in 16 minutes.
In 11 games, Delgado is averaging 5.2 points on 43.9 percent shooting from the floor, including 44.4 percent from beyond the 3-point line and 90 percent from the charity stripe in 10.1 minutes.
