It has been a season full of ups and downs for the former BYU basketball players who are playing the game around the world.

There have been big games and All-Star caliber seasons for some while others have struggled to find consistent roles on their teams.

Here is a look at where the former Cougars are playing around the globe and how they have performed so far this season. 

Charles Abouo, Fos-sur-Mer (France – Pro B)

Abouo is in the middle of a fantastic season for one of the elite teams in France’s Pro B. He has been playing especially well as of late with huge scoring performances in wins over Saint-Chamond and Charleville-Mezieres.

Through 25 games across all competitions, he is averaging 13 points on 45 percent shooting with 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals in 28 minutes a night.

Rashaun Broadus, Prienai-Birstonas Vytautas (Lithuania – LKL)

Broadus just finished up his second weekend in Lithuania after starting his season out in Canada.

After starting his first game with Vytautas, he came of the bench during a 97-95 win over Siauliai and totaled two points, two assists and a pair of steals in 9:30.

He is averaging 3.0 points, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 11:01.

In 15 games in Canada, he averaged 9.8 points, 3.8 assists and 1.7 rebounds.

 

Matt Carlino, Roseto Sharks (Italy – Serie A2)

Carlino has been a scoring machine for the Roseto Sharks all season long. He has scored in double figures in every game, including seven 20-point games and a 30-point game. His best recent showing came in a 92-85 setback to Unieuro Forli when he totaled 14 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes.

On the season, he is averaging a team-leading 18.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals in 29.9 minutes a night.

Brandon Davies, BC Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania – LKL)

Davies has had some of  his best performances of the season in the last couple weeks for the top team in Lithuania’s LKL. He set new EuroLeague highs in points and assists in a matchup with Khimki Moscow and had a really nice showing in a Lithuanian League win over Pieno Zvaigzdes.

In 22 EuroLeague games, he is averaging 7.6 points on 60.2 percent shooting with 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 14:58.

In 22 games in the LKL, he is averaging 7.9 points on 54.4 percent shooting while adding 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 15:34.

Jimmer Fredette, Shanghai Sharks (China – CBA)

Fredette has been putting up huge performance after huge performance as he carried the Sharks to the final spot in the CBA playoffs. He had another huge game on Sunday when he just missed another 50-point game in a 114-100 win over the Qingdao Eagles.

On the season, he averaged 37.4 points on 42 percent shooting from distance and 95 percent from the free-throw line. He also contributed 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.0 steals in 38 games.

Tyler Haws, St. John’s Edge (Canada – NBL)

Haws has been a solid contributor for the St. John’s Edge during his first season in Canada. He had one of his best games of the year last week in a 111-100 win over the Windsor Express as he scored in double figures for the fourth time in 13 chances.

On the season, he is averaging 6.6 points on 44.4 percent shooting from the field with 1.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.8 minutes a game.

Eric Mika, VL Pesaro (Italy – Serie A)

Mika had proven to be a very valuable offensive weapon for VL Pesaro in his rookie season of pro ball. He has scored in double figures in 15 of 19 games and is his team’s second leading scorer and rebounder. One of his best recent showings came in a loss to Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia when he managed one of his best scoring nights so far.

On the season, he is averaging 13.9 points on 52.3 percent shooting from inside the arc to go along with 6.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.0 assists in 28.6 minutes a contest.

Jonathan Tavernari, Dinamo Sassari (Italy – Serie A)

Tavernari has played very well recently after earning a spot in Dinamo Sassari’s rotation. Two of his best games came in a loss to UCAM Murcia in Basketball Champions League and an Italian League win over Fiat Torino where he was deadly from 3-point range.

In six Basketball Champions League games, he is averaging 6.0 points on 43.5 percent shooting from 3-point range with 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 13.1 minutes.

In eight Italian League games, he is averaging 5.8 points on 60.8 percent shooting from the floor with 1.6 rebounds in 9.8 minutes.
