Morning links: LSU-BYU a top game, gets comic book cover, BYU’s Shaver strikes again

Jason Kirk of SB Nation ranked the seven biggest games in college football’s opening weekend(BYU’s second game), and the matchup between the BYU Cougars and the LSU Tigers made the list at No. 3.

Speaking of the battle of the cats, Kirk wrote, “The first half will be overshadowed by No. 1 on this list, but there’ll be plenty of thumpin’ to go by the time we tune in.”

The game also drew attention from SB Nation’s Alex Kirshner who ranked nine upset picks from week 1 based on plausibility.

He had the game ranked No. 3 overall in the “absolutely could happen and wouldn’t be surprising” category.

Talking about the matchup in Houston, Kirshner wrote, “LSU is far more talented, but LSU is also LSU.

“This will be a gory display of power football, and if BYU has eaten its Wheaties, the Cougars will have a chance in a low-scoring affair.”

ESPN and Marvel also joined the fun for the game between LSU and the Cougars as they teamed up to design a comic book cover for the game.
