The Las Vegas Summer League was a chance for local first-round picks Kyle Kuzma and Caleb Swanigan to play huge roles, but they weren’t the only ones to perform well during the two weeks of action. Spencer Butterfield, Jeremy Senglin and Jalen Moore all displayed impressive shooting skills at times, while big men Jakob Poeltl, Eric Mika and Joel Bolomboy all showed what they could do on the backboards.
Here is a look at how the players with local ties performed through the three weeks of Summer League action in Orlando, Utah and Las Vegas.
Joel Bolomboy, Weber State, Utah Jazz
Bolomboy didn’t put up huge numbers but showed he could battle on the boards with the best of them. One of his best games came in a 100-94 win over Philadelphia when he totaled 10 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes.
In five games, he averaged 6.4 points on 36 percent shooting from the field to go along with 5.6 rebounds in 23.2 minutes.
Spencer Butterfield, Utah State, Utah Jazz
Butterfield was a consistent outside shooting threat for the Jazz in both Utah and Las Vegas. One of his best outings came in a 97-76 win over the Milwaukee Bucks when he finished with 11 points on 3-for-6 shooting from 3-point range. He added six rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes.
