Morning links: BYU’s Marriott Center a bucket list arena to visit; 3 Jazz players in top 25 available NBA free agents

Patrick Toner of SB Nation’s Mid-major Madness shared his bucket list of mid-major basketball arenas to visit, and BYU’s Marriott Center made the cut.

Speaking of the Marriott Center, he wrote, “I find the Marriott Center to be unique. The seating seems to rise up into an abyss of darkness. Other West Coast Conference venues to make the list were the McCarthey Athletic Center where Gonzaga plays and McKeon Pavilion, home to Saint Mary’s.

Hayward, Hill, Ingles ranked top 25 available players

Adam Fromal of Bleacher Report ranked the top 100 available players in the NBA and Joe Ingles, George Hill and Gordon Hayward all made the top 25.

Fromal had Hayward as the top Jazz player on the list at No. 5, saying, “Hayward isn’t just disarmingly athletic; he also possesses great instincts that allow him to wait for the opportune moments, luring defenders to sleep and then bursting to the hoop with a quick first step.

“And while this isn’t the biggest part of his game, it’s also representative of his overall progress. Hayward is learning how to maximize his physical gifts, which has helped him turn into a bona fide All-Star who’s only going to keep getting better.”

Fromal had Hill coming in five spots later, at No 10, saying, “When George Hill is healthy, he’s one of the league’s best point guards.”
