Marty Kauffman of USA Today’s Packer Wire looked at the quarterback play at the Green Bay Packers’ minicamp over the weekend, including that of former BYU signal-caller, Taysom Hill.
Kauffman wrote, “BYU quarterback Taysom Hill, who was one of 15 rookie free agent signings for Green Bay, impressed McCarthy during the team’s rookie minicamp this weekend.”
Kauffman then quoted McCarthy talking about Hill and Drew Bauer, saying, “I thought they did an outstanding job. I thought both of those guys, they threw the ball well, but they took a huge jump.”
After talking about Hill’s age and injury history, Kauffman continued, “Yet Hill has intriguing abilities as a dual-threat quarterback. His unique skill set could push him into the consideration for the third-string quarterback position with Callahan, if Green Bay decides to have three quarterbacks on the roster.”
