While the Texas Legends got roughed up in a 148-122 loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, former BYU guard Kyle Collinsworth had by far his best game of his professional career, setting new career bests in points, rebounds and steals.

In the loss, he totaled 16 points on 6 for 10 shooting from the floor and 4 for 6 from the foul line. He added a game-high 17 rebounds, including seven boards on the offensive end, to go along with a team-high six steals and five assists in 42 minutes.

He got going on the early on offensive end with seven first quarter points while adding seven rebounds and a pair of assists.

He got on the score board when he took the ball into the key before spinning back to the baseline for a tough little fall away jumper.

Following an offensive rebound put back, he added a strong take to the rim for a lay-up for his third basket in the quarter.

He scored his only other basket of the half with a tip-in after following up his own shot to push his totals to nine points, nine rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

He made his presence felt on the defensive end early on in the third with a two steals off of Okaro White. Collinsworth was also active on the backboards with an offensive rebound that turned into his only basket of the quarter as well as four boards on the defensive end.

He added one more basket in the fourth when he took the ball to the rim off the dribble and finished with the two-hand jam. He added a pair of free-throws and three more rebounds while collecting back-to-back steals and another assist in the closing minutes to finish out his night’s work.

On the season, he is averaging 7.2 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field with 8.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.2 steals in 28.4 minutes.

Up next for Collinsworth and the Legends is a rematch with the Skyforce on Saturday night.
