Berry Tramel of the Oklahoman looked at how a lack of good candidates is what is limiting the Big 12 in the expansion process.
“Which schools could fill the voids in marketing and competition and academics and geography?,” Tramel asks. “The answer, no one. There were no perfect available candidates. There aren’t any candidates who really can come close.”
After talking about Oklahoma President David Boren’s stance on the process, Tramel continues, “But the truth is, Boren and every other cautious Big 12 administrator would embrace expansion, if two good candidates presented themselves.”
