The Cougar pro basketball tracker, Brandon Davies: Game 5

Brandon Davies had another solid performance as ES Chalon-Sur-Saone came away with another huge win as they knocked off JDA Dijon Bourgogne 71-68 in Dijon.

Davies played 26 minutes in the big road victory and finished with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting from the floor, including 0-for-2 from beyond the arc and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds and a steal as Chalon/Saor improved to 4-1 with him in the lineup.

Davies had plenty of help as three other Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures, led by Anthony Ireland (Loyola Marymount) who registered 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor to go along with six rebounds, six assists and a steal. Jason Rich (Florida State) also had 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor while Ilian Evitmov (North Carolina State) added 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Zach Moss (Mountain State) and Steven Gray (Gonzaga) did most of the damage for Dijon in the loss. Moss managed 15 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field as well as 10 rebounds while Gray had 14 points, four rebounds and three steals. Andre Harris chipped in with nine points and three boards.

With an 11-10 record, Chalon/Saor is right in the middle of the ProA standings. They have a week off before a matchup with Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. Asvel has struggled as of late, dropping its last two games to fall to 10-11 on the season. There are some familiar faces on the roster including Taurean Green who won a pair of National Championships with the Florida Gators, Ahmad Nivins from Saint Joseph’s and David Lighty from Ohio State.

Nivins is the leading scorer with 14 points a night on 66.5 percent shooting from inside the arc to go along with six rebounds. Green puts up 10.1 points, 3.5 assists and three rebounds while Lighty contributes 9.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals a game.
