The Brooklyn Nets used a huge night from Brook Lopez in his return to starting lineup to knock off the Chicago Bulls 96-82 on Tuesday night. The Nets dominated the middle quarters, outscoring the Bulls 60-38 to help secure the big road win.
Lopez finished the night with 29 points on 13 of 21 shooting from the floor as well as five rebounds and two blocks while Joe Johnson added 20 points on 8 of 14 shooting to go along with a team-high 11 rebounds and four assists. Jarrett Jack and Alan Anderson chipped in with 11 points a piece as Brooklyn improved to 15-16 on the season.
Mike Dunleavy carried the scoring load for the Bulls with 23 points on 9 of 15 shooting from the floor, including 5 of 9 from beyond the arc. Joakim Noah contributed 12 points, 12 rebounds, three assists ans two steals while Pau Gasol had 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler combined for just 12 points on 5 for 27 shooting from the floor.
Brandon Davies played 2:39 of action and went scoreless after missing his only field goal attempt, but did manage an assist.
While he has found much more team success, the move to Brooklyn hasn’t been good for Davies in the playing time department. In 11 games in a Nets uniform, he has four DNP’s and only one game where he played more than 10 minutes.
Up next for Davies and the Nets is a trip to Orlando for a Friday night matchup with the Magic.
