Jimmer Fredette played a season-high in minutes as the New Orleans Pelicans fell to the Atlanta Hawks 100-91 on Friday night.
Jeff Teague carried the load for the Hawks with 26 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the floor to go along with seven assists and four rebounds. Atlanta also got solid efforts out of DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap. Carroll registered 19 points on 6 of 9 shooting while Millsap had 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks.
Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson led the charge for the Pelicans in the loss. Holiday finished with 20 points on 8 of 15 shooting as well as seven assists and four rebounds while Anderson had 20 points and seven boards. Tyreke Evans also had a good night with 18 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals. Anthony Davis and Omer Asik each chipped in with a double-double. Davis had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three steals while Asik had 10 points and 11 boards.
Fredette played 18:25 and went scoreless on 0 for 2 shooting from the floor, including a pair of misses on midrange jumpers in the second quarter. He did contribute two assists, a rebound and a steal.
Up next for Fredette and the Pelicans is a Saturday matchup with the Washington Wizards.
