Brandon Davies was back in the starting lineup as the Philadelphia 76ers had no answer for LaMarcus Aldridge in a 114-104 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Aldridge had a huge showing in the win with 33 points on 13 of 20 shooting from the floor and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. He added a game-high 11 rebounds and three assists. Three other Portland starters scored in double figures, including Wesley Matthews with 17 points. Damian Lillard chipped in with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals while Robin Lopez registered 12 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and three assists.
Michael Carter-Williams led Philadelphia in scoring with 24 points to go along with seven rebounds. The 76ers also got big scoring efforts from Henry Sims and Tony Wroten. Sims had 22 points on 8 of 14 shooting while Wroten had 20 points, nine assists and three steals.
Davies had quite an interesting night in the loss. He scored two points on 1 of 3 shooting, including a miss on his only 3-point shot. He did manage five rebounds and an assist even though he fouled out in just 13:37 of action. What made it so interesting was the fact that the Sixers were a +11 when Davies was on the floor.
Up next for Davies and Philadelphia is a matchup with the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
