It was another odd night for Jimmer Fredette as the Pelicans drilled the Loa Angeles Lakers 109-102 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score.
Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans had impressive outings in the win. Davis put up 25 points on 12 of 16 shooting from the floor to go along with 12 rebounds and six blocked shots while Evans registered 19 points and a game high 11 assists. New Orleans also got solid contributions from Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday. Anderson totaled 17 points on 7 of 12 shooting to go along with eight rebounds while Holiday chipped in with 17 points of his own.
Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in scoring even though he had another awful shooting night. He finished with 33 points on 10 of 28 shooting from the floor, but did hit all eight of his free-throw attempts. For other Lakers scored in double figures, including Carlos Boozer with 16 points and Jeremy Lin who added 15.
Jimmer did not play for the second time this season as coach Monty Williams chose to go with a three guard rotation and give the remaining minutes to Luke Babbitt. That was a very curious move when you consider that the Lakers gave plenty of minutes to guys that Jimmer would’ve matched up very favorably with in Ronnie Price (16:34) and Jordan Clarkson (13:51).
Up next for Fredette and the Pelicans is a visit from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
