Jimmer Fredette saw action in all four quarters as the LeBron James led Cleveland Cavaliers knocked off the New Orleans Pelicans 118-111 to secure their first home win of the season on Monday night.
After struggling at times to share the ball on the road, the Cavaliers were in a much more giving mood in the win over New Orleans. The finished with 27 assists on 40 made baskets which led to an impressive shooting night from beyond the arc (13-for-27). James was the catalyst with a team high 10 assists to go along with his 32 points and 12 rebounds. Kyrie Irving also had a big night with 32 points on the strength of a 4-for-7 shooting performance from distance as well as handing out nine assists. Kevin Love also shot the ball well as he chipped in with 22 points on 6 of 9 shooting from 3-point range.
Ryan Anderson and Anthony Davis led the way for the Pelicans in the tough loss. Anderson made 8 of 12 from the 3-point line on his way to a season high 32 points as well as five rebounds and three assists. Davis contributed 27 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocks.
Jimmer played 10:59 and had some nice moments. He totaled four points on 2 of 4 shooting from the floor, including a pair of makes on deep jumpers early in the second quarter. He also registered two assists on outside shots by Anderson.
Up next for Jimmer and the Pelicans is a matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
