Dirk Nowitzki aand Shawn Marion combined for 47 points as the Dallas Mavericks outlasted the Philadelphia 76ers 124-112. After making two of the biggest trade at the deadline, the Sixers came into Friday night’s game severely shorthanded facing the Mavericks, and it showed. With the departures of Evan Turner, Lavoy Allen and Spencer Hawes on Thursday, the new look 76ers got off to a slow start and trialed 41-23 after one-quarter.  They bounced back in the second, and made the game competitive the rest of the way.

Dirk Nowitzki led the way for Dallas with 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting as well as seven rebounds and four assists while Shawn Marion added 22 points on 11-of-14 shooting along with seven rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.  The only other Dallas player to score in double figures was DeJuan Blair who scored 18 points in 16 minutes.

Thaddeus Young carried Philadelphia with 30 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and seven steals.  Michael Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten also had solid showings in the loss.  Carter-Williams totaled 25 points, six assists and five rebounds while Wroten scored 21 points off the bench.

Brandon Davies is to on the shelf recovering from his finger injury.

Philadelphia is back at home on Monday night when the Milwaukee Bucks come to town.
