Philadelphia finally showed up on this road trip, but a dominant stretch from Alec Burks in the fourth quarter keep the 76ers from getting a W.
Burks made 13-of-14 free-throws on his way to 26 points in only 22:48 on the floor as the Jazz outlasted Philadelphia 105-100 on Wednesday night.
Five other Jazz players scored in double figures in the win, led by Gordon Hayward who finished with 17 points even though he had a terrible night shooting the ball. Hayward was just 3-of-17 from the field but made 11-of-12 Free-throws. He also registered seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and three blocked shots. Marvin Williams also had a solid night with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and a team-high 14 rebounds. Enes Kanter, Richard Jefferson and Jeremy Evans also put double digits with 12, 12 and 10 respectively.
The 76ers got solid outings from all five starters, but got next to nothing from the bench in the loss.
Evan Turner led the Sixers in scoring with 21 points. Michael Carter-Williams added 19 points, eight assists, five rebounds, two steals and three blocks. Thaddeus Young also scored 19 points while Spencer Hawes managed 16 points, 11 rebounds and a pair of blocks. The 76ers also got 15 points from James Anderson on 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point range to go along with four steals.
Brandon Davies is still out with a finger injury.
Philadelphia next plays on Feb., 18th when the Cleveland Cavaliers come to town.
