The Cougar NBA tracker: Jimmer Fredette, game 53

Note: As a huge fan of Jimmer Fredette, I couldn’t be more happy to write this piece after watching the game between Sacramento Kings and the New York Knicks.  Sacramento actually ran plays to get Jimmer open looks in clutch situations and Fredette was able to knock down big shots to help the Kings win.

Behind an incredible shooting display by Jimmer Fredette from 3-point range, the Sacramento Kings went into New York and knocked off the Knicks 106-101 in overtime on Wednesday night.

Fredette played 27:20 and finished with a career-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor including 6-of-8 from 3-point range.  He also added two assists and two steals of the bench.

Sacramento also got nice outings from DeMarcus Cousins, Isaiah Thomas and Rudy Gay.  Cousins registered 19 points and 14 rebounds while Thomas added 20 points and seven assists, and Gay chipped in 20 points and seven boards.

Carmelo Anthony led the way for the Knicks with 36 points and 11 rebounds. Tyson Chandler also added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Amare Stoudemire tallied 20 points, eight rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

Sacramento has a week off before they get back on the floor when the Golden State Warriors come to town.

  1. Congrats JMoney! I live in Manhattan and am a lifelong die hard Knicks fan- and while they lost the game tonight, it was great to see Glens Falls, New York’s own Jimmer having his NBA career-to-date game at Madison Square Garden- with i’m sure a bunch of friends and family in the crowd! We have a cabin upstate not far from Glens Falls, so we consider Jimmer one of our own as well….keep the QB rankings coming! They are spot on… Thanks, Bret B
