In the world that we live in today, are most people just raised to be inconsiderate?

I see it so much everyday and to me its something that we definitely need to fix.  The world doesn’t revolve around one person so I don’t really understand how people can feel that way.  What you’re doing and how you’re feeling and your want and your needs aren’t any more important than the person right next to you right now.  It can simply be stated that it’s not all about you.  So don’t act like it is.

Shockingly, I had an experience today that stood out to make me go on this rant for a few moments.

I was in a store trying to make my daily delivery and was waiting for the elevator.  As I was waiting another man came and stepped in front of me to catch the elevator too.  I was talking to the greeter for a second when the door opened.  The man enter the door an as I walked towards it from a step away he Let it close.

I was standing right there to get on the elevator and he just looks at me and let’s it close.

Heaven forbid that you would have to stick your hand out to let the door open back up and do something nice for someone else.

It saddens me that I see things like this every day and we do nothing to change it.  Too few of us don’t think about anyone but ourselves and that is why this world is in the shape that it’s in.

We need to be a little nicer, a little kinder and more aware of the people around us and what they might need.  It’s not difficult to smile, to say please and thank you, to hold doors for people or any number of things to help someone else out.

If we could all do that it would make this world a much better place to live.
