Brandon Davies is performing at levels never before seen in his pro career.
Just days after delivering his best overall EuroLeague outing, Davies had another career-day as BC Zalgiris Kaunas came away with an 83-78 win over AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan on Thursday.
Davies was nearly unstoppable in the close victory, finishing with a EuroLeague career-high 27 points on the strength of an 11-for-15 shooting day from the floor. He also came up big on the glass, registering his second double-double in a row with a game-high 10 rebounds, including three on the offensive end. He was terrific as a passer as well handing out four assists, while collecting a steal and swatting away a shot in 28:53 of work.
Davies found his stroke early on as he started out with six first-quarter points, while giving Kaunas a pair of extra possessions thanks to his work on the offensive glass, but Milan answered at every turn to take a five-point lead after one.
Davies continued to play well in the second quarter with four more points, including a huge putback slam to tie that sparked a huge Zalgiris run.
The EuroLeague Twitter page shared video of the massive play.
Davies really took over in the third as he carried the Zalgiris offense with 12 of the team’s 20 points while converting on all five of his field goal attempts. In fact, the Provo High grad didn’t miss a shot from the field in the second half, connecting on all seven of his attempts while scoring 17 of his 27 points.
The BC Zalgiris Kaunas Twitter page shared some awesome video of Davies doing his thing, including some monster jams and great passes.
Through 10 EuroLeague contests, Davies is fifth in the league in scoring, averaging 15.7 points a night on 57.3 percent shooting from the field and 72.3 percent at the charity stripe. He is also 10th in Europe’s best league with 6.1 rebounds a contest to go along with 1.8 assists in 25:08 minutes.
Davies is also performing well in Lithuanian League play for the top ranked team through 12 games. He is 10th in the League in scoring with 12.4 points on 59 percent shooting despite the fact that he is on the floor just 17:37 a night. He is also the team’s leading rebounder in LKL action with 4.3 boards a contest to go along with 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals.
