The Jimmer Fredette tracker, game 31: Fredette puts up insane stat line in huge win

Jimmer Fredette had one of his best games of the season as he carried the Shanghai Sharks to a 103-85 win over the Zhejiang Golden Bulls on Friday.

Fredette totaled 47 points on 20-for-38 shooting from the floor, including 4-for-10 from beyond the arc and 3-for-4 from the foul line. He added 12 rebounds, seven assists and five steals in 43 minutes.

After just four points in the first quarter, Jimmer really got things going in the second. He started things off by getting to the lane and finishing on a short fadeaway jumper. He followed that up moments later as he fought through contact and finished at the rim. He then converted at the foul line for the 3-point play.

Fredette then showed off his range from the outside with a deep three before he got to the basket on a backdoor cut and dropped in a reverse layup. That forced the Golden Bulls to call a timeout to figure out how to slow him down.

He added a short jumper and a fastbreak layup in traffic to finish the quarter with 14 points as the Sharks opened up an 11-point halftime lead.

Fredette started the second half on fire from the outside as he connected on a transition three from the right-wing and a another three from the top of the key as Shanghai opened up an 18-point lead.

After the Golden Bulls made a run to get back in the game, Fredette went to work again.

He connected on a floater in the lane before collecting a steal and finding Nick Minnerath for a fastbreak dunk. Fredette then got to the rim on a pair of spin moves and finished through contact. He connected on the foul shot for his second old-fashioned 3-point play of the night.

As good as he was in the third, Fredette was even better in the fourth. He totaled 18 of the Sharks’ 22 points in the quarter while making seven of his last eight shots. a lot of that damage was done in the midrange as he connected on multiple jumpers from just inside the foul line. He also added a contested right-wing three right in front of the outstretched hand of Jarnell Stokes.

Minnerath had a good night in the win as well as he recorded 26 points on 3-for-5 shooting from 3-point range while collecting eight rebounds. Cai Liang added 10 points while Zhang Zhaoxu chipped in with six points and 12 rebounds.

Sonny Weems paced the Golden Bulls in the loss with 37 points, 17 rebounds and three assists while Stokes added 25 points and 12 boards.

After their fourth win in five games, the Sharks are now 16-15 and tied for 10th place with the Guangzhou Long-Lions.

On the season, Fredette is averaging 37.5 points on 47 percent shooting from inside the arc, 43 percent from 3-point range and 96 percent from the foul line. He also chips in with 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 40.8 minutes.

Up next for Fredette and the Sharks is a matchup with the Jiangsu Dragons on Sunday. The Dragons are led by MarShon Brooks and Miroslav Raduljica. Brooks is averaging 36.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists while Raduljica puts up 21.5 points, 10 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals a game.
