Jimmer Fredette tracker, CBA game 5: Fredette drops 51 on Guangdong (video)

China has been the perfect fit for Jimmer Fredette and he proved it again on Friday night as he finished with a career-high 51 points in the Sharks’ 111-88 win over the Guangdong Southern Tigers.

He connected on 18 of 31 shots from the floor, including 9 of 17 from 3-point range and 6 for 7 from the free-throw line. He added 10 rebounds for his second double-double in five games while also handing out a team-high six assists and recorded two steals.

Liu XiaoYu chipped in with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists while Guerschon Yabusele managed 15 points ad three rebounds as Shanghai improved to 5-0 on the season.

Donald Sloan and Yi Jianlian led the way for the Southern Tigers in the loss. Sloan finished with 35 points on 12 for 23 shooting from the floor with six rebounds and six assists while Jianlian registered 27 points and nine rebounds.

Carlos Boozer chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

On the season, Fredette is averaging 40.8 points on 53.5 percent shooting from the floor, including an impressive 46.3 percent from 3-point land. He has added 6.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals.

Up next for Fredette and the Sharks is a matchup with the Shenzhen Leopards on Sunday in Shanghai.

The 3-2 Leopards are led by former NBA big man Maciej Lampe and  former Gonzaga guard Jeremy Pargo

Lampe is averaging 20.6 points and 12 rebounds while Pargo is putting up 19.8 points to go along with 8.8 assists and 7.2 rebounds.
