Game 9

The Westchester Knicks dropped the second game of a back-to-back  112-110 to the Maine Red Claws in the Portland Expo Building on Saturday night

Jimmer Fredette shot the ball well from inside and out, but it wasn’t good enough to help the Knicks overcome a hot shooting performance from the Red Claws. The Red Claws connected on 43 of 74 shots from the floor (58.1 percent) on the way to the win.

Jordan Mickey and Omari Johnson led the way for Maine. Mickey had 26 points on 11 for 16 shooting from the floor with eight rebounds and five assists while Johnson totaled 21 points on 8 for 13 shooting from the floor. Terry Rozier added 13 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds while Levi Randolph chipped in with 15 points on 6 for 8 shooting.

Jordan Bachynski paced the Knicks in the loss with 22 points on 9 for 13 shooting from the floor with nine rebounds while Travis Trice II managed 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Jordon Crawford registered 12 points on 6 for 6 shooting from the free-throw line while Kevin Capers recorded 11 points on 5 for 6 shooting from the field in just nine minutes.

Fredette finished the night with 19 points on 8 for 14 shooting from the floor, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc and 0 for 1 from the foul line. He added five rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes.

Jimmer got off to a blazing start from the outside with all three of his 3-point shots in the first seven minutes of the game. He also made a driving lay-up late in the quarter for 11 first-quarter points.

After scoring just one bucket during the second and third quarter, he found his touch again in the fourth. He made 3 of 5 shots while adding three rebounds and an assist.

Game 10

The Westchester Knicks returned to their winning ways as they knocked off the Erie BayHawks 100-92 at the Westchester County Center on Monday night.

Jimmer Fredette led four Knicks in double figures with 19 points while Thanasis Antetokounmpo totaled 18 points on 7 for 10 shooting from the floor with seven rebounds  and two assists. Darion Atkins added 10 points on 4 for 6 shooting from the floor with 12 rebounds and three blocks while Jordan Bachynski had 10 points and four rebounds.

Myck Kabongo and Devyn Marble paced the BayHawks in the defeat. Kabongo had 16 points on 7 for 12 shooting from the floor with six assists, five rebounds and four steals while Marble had 16 points of his own. Derrick Character and Alex Davis registered 12 points and eight rebounds a piece while Jordan Sibert had 12 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor.

While Fredette didn’t have a great shooting night overall making just 5 of 13 shots from the floor, he did connect on 3 of 5 3-point attempts and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. He added two rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 36 minutes.

On the season, Fredette has played 10 games and is averaging 23 points on 48.8 percent shooting from the floor, including 46.9 percent from 3-point range and 88.7 percent from the free-throw line. He is also averaging 4.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.9 steals in 35.9 minutes.

Up next for Fredette and the Knicks is a matchup with the Delaware 87ers on Wednesday night.
