Even though Jimmer Fredette is the only former BYU Cougar playing basketball in the NBA, there are plenty of Cougars who are playing basketball for a living around the globe. Currently there are seven former Cougars playing across the world, including some very familiar faces. While some were stars at BYU, others may not be as recognizable to most fans.

Here is a look at the former BYU players who are playing basketball around the world.

Note: Rafael Araujo is listed on the roster at E.C. Pinheiros/Sky Sao Paolo in Brazil, but has not appeared in a game this season, according to Latinbasket.com.

Agustin Ambrosino, Tomas De Rocamora, Argentina

Ambrosino played just one season (2012-13) for the Cougars before moving on. That season, he averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 31 games.

He is now playing in Argentina for Tomas De Rocamora. In his latest game, he finished with five points on 2-for-4 shooting from the floor, including a make on his only 3-point attempt of the game. He also added a pair of rebounds in 16 minutes of action during the 98-81 loss to San Isidro San Francisco.

So far this season, Ambrosino has appeared in five games and is averaging 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 16.8 minutes a night according to Latinbasket.com.

Rashaun Broadus, Juventas-LKSK Utenos, Lithuania

Broadus played for the Cougars for parts of two seasons and was a very serviceable guard. His best year with BYU came in 2005-06 when he averaged nine points, 3.7 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 28 games.

He is now playing in Lithuania for Juventas-LKSK Utenos. Juventas plays in both the Lithuanian league (LKL) and the Baltic League. In his latest game, he had a tough outing with just four points on 2-for-11 shooting from the floor. He also contributed two rebounds, one assist and a steal in 23 minutes in the 89-64 loss to Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys

So far this season, Broadus has appeared in 22 games in the Lithuanian league and is averaging a team-high 14 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.6 steals in 30.3 minutes a night. In Baltic League play, he has appeared in nine games and is second on the team with 11.7 points per contest on 60.7 percent shooting from inside the arc. He also contributes 3.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 26.1 minutes, according to Eurobasket.com.

Lee Cummard, Okapi Aalstar, Belgium

Cummard played for the Cougars from 2005-2009 and was one of the most well-rounded players in school history. He was First-Team All Mountain West Conference as a junior and a senior. He also earned Conference Player of the Year honors in ’07-08, according to BYUCougars.com when he averaged 15.8 points on 56.9 percent shooting from the floor to go along with 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and a block a game.

He is now playing in Belgium for Okapi Aalstar. Aalstar competes in the Scooore league as well the EuroChallange. In his latest game, he totaled 14 points on 4-for-11 shooting from the floor, including 2-for-5 from distance and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. He added eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in 37 minutes of play in a 80-77 overtime win over Liege Basket.

So far this season, Cummard has appeared in 16 games in the Scooore league and is averaging eight points on 50 percent shooting from 3-point land and 100 percent from the free-throw line to go along with 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 30.3 minutes a night. In the EuroChallange, he has appeared in nine games and is putting up 9.7 points on 80.8 percent shooting from 2-point range as well as 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27.9 minutes a contest, according to Eurobasket.com.

Brandon Davies, ES Chalon-Sur-Saone, France

Davies played in the NBA for most of the last two seasons after a tremendous career with the Cougars. Davies played for BYU from 2009-2013 and left as one of the best big men for the Cougars over the last decade. His best year came as a senior when he averaged 17.7 points on 52.2 percent shooting from the floor. He added eight rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and a block a night over 36 games.

He is now playing for ES Chalon-Sur-Saone in France. Chalon competes in the French ProA league where they are 9-10 on the season. In his latest game, he registered 18 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the floor, including 1-for-3 from beyond the arc and 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. He added five rebounds, three steals and an assist in a 80-73 loss to JL Bourg Basket on Saturday.

So far this season, Davies has appeared in three games and is averaging 11.7 points, six rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks in 27.3 minutes a night, according to Eurobasket.com.

Lamont Morgan, Plasencia Extremadura, Spain

Morgan played for the Cougars from 2008-10 and was a solid backup to the loaded BYU guard lines. His most productive season came in ’08-09 when he averaged 3.6 points on 41.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc as well as 1.8 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 33 games.

He has spent the 2014-15 season playing for Plasencia Extremadura in Spain. Plasencia competes in Group D of the EBA and is 8-4 on the season. Morgan was putting together a fine season before he missed the last three games.

In nine games this season, Morgan averaged 14.7 points, while leading the team in both assists (5.2) and steals (2.8) in 37.3 minutes a contest, according to Eurobasket.com.

Trent Plaisted, Limoges CSP Elite, France

Plaisted was at BYU from 2004-08 before declaring for the NBA draft following his junior year. His most productive season at BYU came in ’07-08 when he averaged 15.6 points on 54.2 percent shooting from the floor to go along with 7.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a block in 35 games. Those numbers were good enough to earn first-team all-conference, according to BYUCougars.com.

He is now playing for Limoges CSP Elite in France. Limoges competes in both the French ProA league as well as the Eurocup. In his latest game, he played just three minutes and scored a single point after going 1-for-2 from the free-throw line in a three minutes on the floor in a 68-57 loss to Acqua Vitasnella Cantu from Italy.

So far this season, Plaisted has appeared in 15 games in the French ProA league and is averaging six points on 59.7 percent shooting from the floor as well as 3.1 rebounds in 15 minutes a contest. He has also made 10 appearances in Euroleague where he has averaged three points on 54.5 percent shooting and 2.6 rebounds in 12.7 minutes a game, according to Eurobasket.com.

Jonathan Tavernari, Orsi Derthona Basket Tortona, Italy

Tavernari played for the Cougars from 2006-10 and was known for his prolific outside shooting. His most productive season came as a junior in ’08-09 when he averaged 15.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals in 33 games. Those stats were good enough to earn third-team all-conference honors, according to BYUCougars.com.

He is now playing for Orsi Derthona Basket Tortona in Italy. Tortona participates in the A2 Silver league where it has a record of 10-9 on the season. In his latest game, he played 32 minutes and totaled nine points on 3-for-8 shooting from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. He added eight rebounds, an assist and a steal in the 79-68 loss to Aget Service Imola.

In 19 games this season, Tavernari is averaging 11.8 points on 49.5 percent shooting from inside the arc and 81 percent from the free-throw line as well as 5.3 rebounds and a team-leading 1.8 steals in 28.6 minutes a night, according to Eurobasket.com.
