Brandon Davies found his way into the starting lineup as the Chalon/Saor knocked off Gravelines-Dunkerque 74-65 on Monday night.
It didn’t take Davies long to figure out his new situation on the court as he had a solid night in the win. He played a team-high 36 minutes and finished with 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor, including 1-of-4 from 3-point land. He added nine rebounds and two assists as Chalon/Saor improved to 9-9 on the season. Davies also made an impact on the defensive side of the ball where he recorded a game-high four blocked shots as well as a steal.
Davies had plenty of help from Jason Rich and Scott Suggs in the victory. Rich led the way with 22 points on 4-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc to go along with five assists and four rebounds while Suggs added 15 points and seven rebounds.
Pape Sy and Graham Brown did most of the damage on the offensive end for Gravelines. Sy totaled 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor while Brown added 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks.
Up next for Davies and Chalon/Saor is a matchup with JL Bourg Basket. Bourg is led by John Flowers (West Virginia) who averages 13.4 points and 4.5 rebounds. Steven Smith (La Salle) is second on the team in scoring with 12.9 points a night and 6.4 rebounds, while Devin Booker (Clemson) is putting up 11.9 points on 58.4 percent shooting as well as a team leading 6.7 rebounds, according to Eurobasket.com.
