The New Orleans Pelicans used an impressive shooting night from the outside to knock off the Memphis Grizzlies 106-95 on Friday night. The Pelicans finished 10 for 20 from behind the arc (50 percent) to secure the win.
Jrue Holiday led the way for New Orleans with 23 points on 7 of 13 shooting from the field, including 3 for 6 from distance to go along with eight assists, three rebounds and two steals. Tyreke Evans and Anthony Davis also had big outings to help push the Pelicans back to .500 on the season. Evans had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while Davis totaled 20 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Ryan Anderson added 20 points and six rebounds while Eric Gordon Chipped in with 13 points.
Marc Gasol and Mike Conley did most of the damage for the Grizzlies in the loss. Gasol registered 19 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the floor while Conley finished with 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Zach Randolph added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
After playing in five straight games, Jimmer Fredette was back on the bench as Austin Rivers got the backup guard minutes. It was the 13th time in 36 games that he did not play.
Up next for Fredette and the Pelicans is a trip to Boston to face the Celtics on Monday.
