The Pelicans have had a very difficult time on the road this season and Saturday was no different as they got blasted 120-100 by the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers used a remarkable shooting night from long distance to come away with the easy win. They hit 17 of 32 from 3-point range (53.1 percent), to improve to 14-5 on the season.
Blake Griffin led Los Angeles with 30 points on 10 of 15 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford also had impressive shooting nights in the win. Redick had 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting, including 5 of 9 from beyond the arc while Crawford chipped in with 20 points on 6 of 11 shooting. Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan both had big games as well. Paul finished with 18 points, 16 assists and six rebounds while Jordan totaled eight points, 18 rebounds and five blocks.
Anthony Davis led the way for New Orleans with 26 points on 9 of 15 shooting. Ryan Anderson chipped in with 16 points, while Tyreke Evans added 13 points, six rebounds and four assists. The Pelicans also got a double-double out of Omer Asik who registered 10 points and 10 boards.
On a night where New Orleans played 12 players, Jimmer Fredette wasn’t one of them. It is the seventh time in 18 games where he didn’t make an appearance.
Up next for Fredette and the Pelicans is a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
