Brandon Davies had a solid night as the Philadelphia 76ers got hammered by the Phoenix Suns 122-96 on Friday night. After trailing by a point after the first quarter, Phoenix outscored the 76ers 41-17 in the second to blow the game wide open. The loss drops the Sixers to 0-12 to start the season.
All 13 Suns in uniform played more than 10 minutes with eight scoring in double figures in the lopsided win. Isaiah Thomas led Phoenix in the scoring column with 23 points on 6 of 9 shooting to go along with eight assists, three rebounds and three steals. Markieff Morris added 18 points on 6 of 10 shooting with four rebounds while Eric Bledsoe totaled 13 points and seven assists.
Michael Carter-Williams had a rough shooting night, but still finished as the 76ers leading scorer. He registered 18 points on 6 of 18 shooting, including 0 of 4 from beyond the arc to go along with six rebounds and six assists. The only other starter in double figures was Tony Wroten who had 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field. K.J. McDaniels and Alexey Shved also put up solid numbers coming off the bench. McDaniels had 17 points, three rebounds and two steals while Shved totaled 15 points on 3 of 5 shooting from distance as well as handing out five assists and collecting two steals.
Davies saw 27:32 of action and scored eight points on 2 of 5 shooting from the floor and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line. He also added five rebounds, three assists, a steal and the only block of the game.
