Behind a remarkable shooting display from Mike Dunleavy from beyond the arc, the Chicago Bulls outlasted the Washington Wizards 100-97 on Friday night.
Dunleavy was nearly unguardable making 8-of-10 shots from distance to finish the night with 35 points. Four other Bulls scored in double figures in the win led by Jimmy Butler with 15 points. Carlos Boozer added 14 points while Taj Gibson and D.J. Augustin chipped in with 13 points a piece.
Bradley Beal and John Wall both had a big night, but it wasn’t enough in the wake of Dunleavy’s 3-point marksmanship. Beal finished with 25 points, four rebounds and five assists while Wall tallied 23 points , seven assists and four steals. The Wizard also got solid play from Trevor Ariza and Marcin Gortat. Ariza registered 16 points and 11 rebounds while Gortat came away with 13 points, 11 boards and three blocks.
For the third consecutive game in the series Jimmer did not play.
The Bulls and the Wizards square off again on Sunday in game four as Chicago tries to even up the series.
