Behind a flurry of 3-pointers from D.J.Augustin, a big night from Joakim Noah and a terrific defensive effort in the first half, the Chicago Bulls drilled the Washington Wizards 96-78 on Saturday night.
Augustin led the Bulls in scoring with 25 points on the strength of 6-of-11 shooting from behind the arc. Noah added 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting to go along with 12 rebounds and was a big part of a Chicago defense that held the Wizards to just 26 points in the first half including 10 in the second quarter. Carlos Boozer added 16 points on the night while Kirk Hinrich chipped in with 11 points and five assists.
John Wall led the way for Washington with 20 points and six assists while Marcin Gortat totaled 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting as well as a team-high eight rebounds. Bradley Beal also had a solid game with 14 points, five assists and two steals.
Jimmer played 3:16 of garbage time and didn’t score after missing his only field goal attempt.
Chicago is off until Wednesday when they travel to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves.
