After the 76ers traded away Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes at the deadline just about every person who follows the NBA could see this day coming and Philadelphia didn’t disappoint.
On Thursday night the Sixers got drilled by the Houston Rockets 120-98 behind a triple-double from James Harden to tie the NBA record for consecutive losses.
Harden finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the win. Houston also got big nights from Terrence Jones and Dwight Howard. Jones registered 20 points, seven rebounds and four steals while Howard ended up with 17 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks.
James Anderson led Philadelphia with 30 points on 6-of-11 shooting from behind the arc. He was joined in double figures by Henry Sims who put up 18 points and Thaddeus Young who chipped in with 15 points and nine boards.
Brandon Davies played 11 minutes and totaled two points and six rebounds. He was 0-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the free-throw line. The 76ers can set the NBA record for futility on Saturday night when the Detroit Pistons come to town.
