Behind a huge night from both Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson the Chicago Bulls beat the Sacramento Kings 94-87 on Saturday night.
Noah finished with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds, eight assists, three steals and five blocks while Gibson added 19 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. The Bulls also got a solid effort from Mike Dunleavy who registered 16 points and six rebounds.
The Kings were led by DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas in the loss. Cousins totaled 25 points, 14 rebounds and four steals while Thomas put up 26 points and five assists. The only other Sacramento player to score in double figures was Rudy Gay who ended with 13 points.
Jimmer did not play in his first matchup with his former team even though the Bulls’ starting backcourt shot just 5-of-22 from the floor and D.J. Augustin was 3-of-10. With Chicago relying so much on defense to win games combined with the fact that the Bulls haven’t had more than one-off day in a row since Fredette arrived is why he isn’t playing. It is very difficult to adjust to a new system when there is very little time in between games.
Chicago is back on the floor on Monday night when the Oklahoma City Thunder come to town.
