The 76ers futility reached epic proportions on Saturday night when the Memphis Grizzlies came to town and crushed Philadelphia 103-77.
Mike Conley led the way for the Grizzlies with 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field to go along with four rebounds and four assists in just 23 minutes. Only two other Memphis players scored in double figures in the big win. Zach Randolph tallied 14 points while Marc Gasol registered 11 points, four rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocked shots. Memphis also got a solid effort from Ed Davis who registered six points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Michael Carter-Williams led the 76ers with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field as well as eight rebounds and three assists. Thaddeus Young added 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and six steals. The only other Sixer to score in double figures was Tony Wroten who put up 13 points off the bench.
Brandon Davies is still sidelined with an injured finger.
Philadelphia is back in action on Monday night when they travel to Indiana to face the Pacers. If the 76ers lose to Indiana it will be the longest losing streak in Philadelphia team history.
