Deron Williams and Joe Johnson led a balanced attack as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Chicago Bulls 96-80 on Monday night. Brooklyn got out to an early lead thanks to 19 steals and raced home to and easy win.
Williams recorded 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting, six assists and two steals while Johnson came away will 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor. Three other Nets scored in double figures as the Nets improved to .500 on the season. Paul Pierce and Shaun Livingston finished with 14 points a piece while Andray Blatche chipped in with 11 points off the bench.
The Bulls were paced D.J. Augustin who finished with 16 points in the loss while Carlos Boozer chipped in with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Chicago also got 12 points and five rebounds from Taj Gibson as well as 13 points and four steals from Jimmy Butler.
Jimmer played just 2:57 in his second game with the Bulls and finished with two points on 50 percent shooting. The Bulls are back in action on Wednesday night as they travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons.
