Rudy Gay and Isaiah Thomas combined to score 43 points as the Sacramento Kings beat the short-handed Boston Celtics 105-98 on Saturday night.
Gay finished with 22 points and seven rebounds while Thomas put up 21 points as well as handing out 12 assists. The Kings also got double figure scoring from five other players in the win.
Without Rajon Rondo, the Celtics were led by Jeff Green who registered 29 points even though he made just 7-of-25 shots from the floor. Boston also got nice efforts from Kris Humphries and Jerryd Bayless. Humphries finished the night with 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks while Bayless added 16 points, four assists and two steals.
Jimmer did not play in the win. From what we have seen over the last two Kings games, it appears as if Sacramento is focusing on developing little-used rookie point guard Ray McCallum instead.
The Kings are back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets.
