Without the services of DeMarcus Cousins, the Sacramento Kings didn’t have enough offense to hang with the Golden State Warriors in a 101-92 loss on Wednesday night.
Golden State got the win even though they shot just 3-of-19 from 3-point range. David Lee led the way for the cold-shooting Warriors with 23 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Klay Thompson chipped in with 18 points, five assists and four rebounds while Steph Curry registered 13 points and eight helpers.
The Kings were paced by Isaiah Thomas who finished with 26 points and seven assists, but did turn the ball over seven times. Rudy Gay added 16 points and eight rebounds even though he shot just 6-for-21 from the floor. Sacramento also got a solid night from Travis Outlaw who totalled 18 points, five rebounds and two steals off the bench.
Jimmer played just 4:15 on the night even though the Kings traded Marcus Thornton earlier in the day. He ended up with three points, but also had a pair of turnovers.
My hope is that Fredette will get dealt before tomorrow’s trade deadline, but since Sacramento already parted ways with Thornton, that seems less likely now.
Sacramento is back on the floor on Saturday night when the Boston Celtics come to town.
