I know that everybody says how tough it is to do sports radio in the summer when the only thing that is going on is baseball, but today may be the most difficult day of the year to listen to sports talk radio. The reason for that is because all anyone does is rehash the Super Bowl. This is especially true in a total blowout like we had last night. Being a fan who watched the game entirely (even though my team was eliminated two weeks a go) I just can’t tolerate listening to hours of summaries. I really don’t need to hear every angle broken down to the smallest details.
Some of the interviews are cool, but I truly don’t need to hear from the backup kicker and his feelings towards the whole thing. Nor do I need to hear Russell Wilson say the same things that he said in the two interviews right after the game ended.
Chances are that everyone who is tuning into sports radio already watched the game, seeing as most everyone in America watched it for one reason or another.
The only people who want the expanded break downs are the fans of the winning team (the Seattle Seahawks), but for every other sports fan it is just a beating.
Thankfully there are a million NBA and college basketball games tonight so it only lasts a day, but it is still very hard to stomach.
I don’t know what the resolution would be other than changing the channel (which is exactly what I do), but I know one thing, even the most die-hard fans can’t handle so much analysis.
