Even though Florida State is favored by 10 points going into tonight’s National Title Game, all I keep hearing is that Auburn is going to win.

I’ve just got to assume that everyone who keeps saying that hasn’t watched the Seminoles play this year.

Although I think that Jameis Winston is completely over-hyped, Florida State is by far the best team in the country this year.  They have a dominant defense that looks more like an NFL team than a college one.

I’m not saying that the Tigers don’t have a shot because its impossible to tell what kind of strides can be made with a month of preparation (all you have to do is look at Trevor Knight at Oklahoma to prove that point). Gus Malzahn is a fantastic coach who could create all kind of problems for FSU, but just looking at pure talent there is no question who has the edge.  Nick Marshall and Tre Mason are both terrific players, but I think that the FSU defense is just too good to be exposed by the Tigers’ ground game.  FSU leads the nation only allowing 10.7 points a game and gave up more than 17 points just one time this season.

I also think the Auburn defense isn’t top-notch by any stretch of the imagination.  They have given up at least 20 points in nine of 13 games and more than 35 on four occasions.  This is where Florida State should have a huge edge.  The Seminole offense is putting up 53 points a game on the season with a low of 37.  They haven’t been stopped all year-long and I don’t see tonight being any different.

I fully believe that Florida State will win and finally break the SEC strong hold on the BCS trophy.

In case you were wondering, there is no chance I am biased here even though I am so sick of the SEC because I have absolutely no love for Florida State either. I did my best to look at this objectively from what I saw with my own two eyes.
