Knicks get thumped by mediocre Celtics

There was something that happened in the NBA that most sports fans will miss because it was in the midst of some of the best football I have ever seen.

The Knicks were at home early Sunday against the mediocre Boston Celtics and got absolutely embarrassed.

The Celtics scored 25 of the games first 28 points and were up 34-11 after one-quarter.

They scored just 21 points in the first Half on the way to A 114-73 loss.

The Knicks starters combined  to score just 29 point on 9-of-41 shooting from the field as well as grabbing 12 rebounds and handing out only four assists.

The loss drops the Knicks to just 5-14 on the season.  It’s a far cry from what was expected out of New York when they picked up Metta World Peace and Andrea Bargnani in the off-season.

Many experts believed that the Knicks had their chance to compete in the Eastern Conference, but just like their Brooklyn neighbors New York hasn’t gelled at all.

I wonder when GM’s will figure out that getting the most talent doesn’t mean It will translate into wins.  When You put a bunch of one-dimensional players together you won’t find success, especially With little time to find cohesiveness.

It was clear on a day like today that the Knicks really miss Kenyon Martin and Tyson Chandler who are their glue guys.  Even without their best defensive players, a 41 point whipping to a bad team should just never happen.
